Visitors will have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of extracts from works currently being made by dance and theatre artists based in Central Europe. It’s a direct and relevant dialogue with emerging art, which, in many cases, has yet to encounter an audience. This year will again feature a wide range of themes and approaches from two Czech and two international creative groups. Spectators will be able to further reflect on these provocative, surprising and, above all, fresh extracts in stimulating moderated discussions.

Program of Saturday’s Bazaar:
Karolin Poska & Co. (EE): LUCKY CHARM
Katharina Joy Book and Eszter Koncz (DE/HU/CZ): TORNADO WATCH
Ludvík Píza and Zuzana Šklíbová (CZ): CHALUPÁŘKY / THE COTTAGE WOMEN
Haibo Illés and Richárd Melykó (HU): BEHAVIOUR SET

Haibo Illés & Richárd Melykó are developing a provocative choreographic installation that balances the control and freedom of Hungary’s cultural existence. Estonian artist Karolin Poska and dancers are researching the human longing to control one’s surroundings for a performance. DAMU students Kathrina Joy Book and Eszter Konzc are trying to control future, fictional and impossible weather, while Ludvík Píza and Zuzana Šklíbová are focusing on the leisure practice of cottage-going under socialism, a time when many found a refuge from control at their own cottages.

The projects are carried out as part of Live Performance Bazaar Residencies with financial support from the European Union. Karolin Poska & Co.’s project is supported by the Culture Moves Europe programme.
